Kevin L. Hawkins, 59, passed away on Sunday, October 23rd at St. Peter's Hospice Inn in Albany. Kevin was born on May 4th, 1957 to the late Barbara and Vernon Tolliver in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Eli Whitney High School in Brooklyn and went to work for the NYC Dept. of General Services before relocating to Schenectady, NY in 1988 to be closer to his family. Kevin went on to become the owner/operator of Shirts Galore Plus and than Key's World in Schenectady, NY. Predeceased by his sisters, Sheila Hawkins and Robin Tolliver and brother, David Tolliver Sr. Kevin leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife & friend of 27 years, Latonia Hawkins; sons, Jermel Hawkins and Andrell Leppanen; daughter, Keyaira Hawkins; brothers, Gary Hawkins, Darryl and Sean Tolliver; grandchildren, Na'Shae Johnson Hawkins, Janelle Hawkins, Jermel Hawkins Jr., Jermi Hawkins and Chase Brantley. A celebration of Kevin's life will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Refreshing Springs Church, 327 Georgetta Dix Plaza, Schenectady, NY 12307. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to his services.
