Kenneth “KC” Hayes, Sr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born on March 11, 1956, and lived a full and colorful life. KC, as he was affectionately known, was a proud graduate of South Philadelphia High School in 1974. He furthered his education at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, graduating in 1986 with a degree in art. He had a passion for creativity and was always known for his artistic talents. After his studies, KC pursued a career as a chef, where he dazzled patrons with his culinary skills for many years before retiring in 2003. His love for cooking allowed him to express his creativity and share his delicious creations with others. In his free time, KC had a unique hobby of collecting swords. His collection was a source of pride and fascination for those who had the pleasure of seeing it. He had an eye for rare and intricate pieces that truly spoke to his artistic nature. Although KC is no longer with us, his memory will live on through his son, Christopher Hayes, Jr., who will carry on his legacy. He also leaves behind a beloved grandchild Jabriel Alexander Singleton who will forever cherish the moments spent with his grandfather. KC’s life may have been cut short by pancreatic cancer, but his spirit will always be remembered for the joy and laughter he brought to those around him.
