Jones, Kenneth MalcomKenneth Malcom Jones passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 11:14 am. He was born on September 4th, 1922 to Earl and Emma (Cardner) Jones of Freetown, NY. He is survived by his wife of 73 years Joyce Allen Jones and his nine children, Mary (Charles) Green of Whitney Point, Janet Jones Frand of Whitney Point, Janine (William) Nechwedowich of Whitney Point, Mark (Pamela) of Macungie Pa, Eugene (Kathryn) of Whitney Point, Morgan (Jennifer) of Homer NY, Jeffrey (Dianne) of Greene NY, Patricia (Victor) Montanez of Dryden, NY and Ronald (Enid) of Whitney Point. He had 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. He was preceded in death by his brother Francis, sisters Doris (Lockwood) and Vivian (Wood) and his son-in-law Gerald Frand. Ken was co-owner of Jones and Allen Chevrolet Dealership and later owner of Ken Jones Sales and Homes by Jones. He was an active member of Whitney Point Rotary, the United Methodist Church, The Masons, and President of the Ken Jones Optimist Club with a theme song of Smile and The World Smiles with You. He was an avid supporter of the American Red Cross, organizing Blood Drives in the community in his later years. Ken was a true gentleman, who led by an example of honesty, integrity, and hard work. He was a generous and kind person, giving of his time to the community and those in need. Ken will be sorely missed by those who knew him. Calling hours to be held at the United Methodist Church located at 7311 Collins Street, Whitney Point NY on Wednesday, 12/21 from 4-7pm and on Thursday 12/22 from 10-12pm with funeral service to follow.
