Kenneth H. BassKenneth H. Bass 89, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on August 22, 2017. He was born on September 11, 1927 in Cleghorn, Iowa to Hobert Vincent and Maggie Mae (Thornbury) Bass. Kenneth was married for 71 years to his high school sweetheart Glenda Fisher. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Kenneth drove for Greyhound Lines for 35 years and had many good friends among his long time colleagues. He loved to drive and he and Glenda took many driving trips all around his beloved Ozarks and the United States, including many spring training trips to see the St. Louis Cardinals. Kenneth cherished taking his grandchildren to the Springfield Conservation Nature Center, the woods, and rivers, instilling in them an appreciation of wildlife and the outdoors.He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence, Clifford, and William Bass; and a sister Marjorie Claus.Survivors include his loving wife, Glenda; daughter, Jeanette Clinkenbeard (Joel), and his son Jim Bass (Debbie); grandchildren, Elizabeth Clinkenbeard, Kristin Gilliam (Tyler), and Kyle Bass (Megan); seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 1:00pm till 2:00pm with a celebration of life to follow at 2:00pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte (4500 S. Lone Pine Springfield, MO). A graveside service for the family will be announced at a later date.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Kenneth's honor to Meals on Wheels (3801 S.
