During his long and fulfilling life, Kenneth made an indelible mark on the lives of those around him. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, a doting grandfather, and an exceptional friend. His warm and compassionate nature endeared him to everyone he crossed paths with.

Born and raised in Murfreesboro, Kenneth grew up with a strong sense of community and a deep love for his hometown. He attended Murfreesboro High School, where he excelled academically and made lifelong friendships that would shape his future. After graduating in 1953, Kenneth pursued higher education at Middle Tennessee State University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Following his graduation, Kenneth dedicated his career to the banking industry. He was known for his unwavering honesty, integrity, and commitment to serving his clients. After several years in various positions, Kenneth eventually ascended to the role of Vice President at Community Bank, where he remained until his retirement in 1997.

Outside of work, Kenneth found great joy in immersing himself in the Murfreesboro community. He was an active member of the local Rotary Club, where he volunteered countless hours to various service projects. Kenneth's passion for philanthropy extended to numerous charitable organizations, including the Murfreesboro Children's Home, where he served on the Board of Directors for over two decades.

Family always held a special place in Kenneth's heart. He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret, in 1957, and they shared a love that grew deeper with each passing year. Their marriage was a true partnership built on respect, trust, and unwavering support. Together, they raised two children, David and Jennifer, instilling in them the same values that Kenneth held dear.

As a father, Kenneth led by example and encouraged his children to pursue their dreams fearlessly. He attended countless soccer games, dance recitals, and school performances, always cheering enthusiastically from the sidelines. Kenneth's selflessness and unconditional love created an unbreakable bond within his family.

When his cherished grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew, came into the world, Kenneth experienced a new level of joy. He treasured every moment spent with them, relishing in the opportunity to pass down his wisdom and create lasting memories. Whether playing games, reading stories, or simply enjoying each other's company, Kenneth's love for his grandchildren knew no bounds.

Kenneth was not only a devoted family man but also a true friend to many. His warm smile and kind heart made him a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew him. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and loved, and his friends fondly remember the countless memories created together over the years.

Kenneth Garwood is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Garwood, his children, David Garwood and Jennifer Collins, his grandchildren, Sarah Garwood and Matthew Collins, and numerous other relatives and friends. He will be dearly missed and remembered with love.
