It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Hayes, Sr. Born on March 11, 1956 to Ida B. & Floyd “K.C.”Hayes. Kenneth Hayes, Sr. passed away on January 16, 2026, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

Kenneth Hayes, Sr. attended South Philadelphia High School and graduated in 1974. After graduation, he pursued a career as a chef and worked tirelessly until his retirement in 2003.

On February 7, 1978 KC and his long time Girlfriend Annise had a baby boy named Christopher Hayes, Jr. KC and CJ were known as the troublemakers as CJ got older. KC taught his son about sports at a very young age.

On February 19, 2008 KC’s first and only Grandchild Jabriel Alexander Singleton was born. KC loved and adored his grandson.

Outside of his professional life, Kenneth Hayes, Sr. had a passion for collecting swords. He spent countless hours curating his collection and sharing his enthusiasm with others.

Kenneth Hayes, Sr. is survived by his son Christopher Hayes, Jr. and his beloved grandchild Jabriel Alexander Singleton as well as his four sisters and one brother Janey, Jeanie, Anita, Michelle and Timothy as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Pops left behind a legacy of love, laughter and life. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
