We are saddened to announce the passing of Kayron Cephas, who was born on September 4, 1942, in Glendora, MS. Kayron passed away on December 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Kayron was the beloved daughter of Thomas Sydney and Hattie Mae Sydney. She was also the loving wife of Richard Cephas, (preceded her in death) whom she married in 1961. Together, they raised two wonderful children.

Kayron was a dedicated teacher at Chicago Public School, where she touched the lives of many students and colleagues until she retired. In her free time, she enjoyed indulging in her hobbies of arts and crafts, particularly scrapbooking.

Although Kayron has left this world, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two children Lillian Diaz (spouse Anthony) and Troy Cephas; three cherished grandchildren, Jasmine Cephas, Taylore Cephas and Brooke Cephas; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
