Kathy Smith, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 13, 2026, at the age of 65 in Savannah, Georgia.

Born on March 8, 1960, to Leon and Jamala Ramey, Kathy grew up in Savannah and graduated from Monroe Area High School in 1972. She went on to pursue higher education at the University of Georgia, graduating in 1982 with a degree she was incredibly proud of.

In 1975, Kathy married the love of her life, Gerald Smith, with whom she shared a beautiful life together. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Samaj and Raven. Kathy cherished her role as a mother and later as a grandmother to four adoring grandchildren.

Kathy had a successful career working for the FDA, where she dedicated many years of service before retiring in 2005. She was known for her hard work, dedication, and infectious sense of humor that brightened the lives of all who knew her.

Her family and friends will always remember Kathy for her unwavering love, kindness, and ability to make everyone around her laugh. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
