Kathy Lynn Netherland, 48, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at her residence. She was born on Sept. 7, 1965, in Shelbyville, received her masters of special education degree from Campbellsville University, her masters of vocational rehabilitation and masters of family studies from the University of Kentucky. She was a special education teacher for the Bardstown School System, a member of KEA and Parkway Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hayden Netherland; and a daughter, Samantha Grace Netherland.Survivors include a daughter, Holly Alyssa Netherland, of Bardstown; her parents, Norris Lee and Betty Lou Bryan Hardin, of Bardstown; four sisters, Margaret Gayle Clark, Stephanie (Jamie) Clark Thompson, both of Bardstown, Pamela (Beau) Adams, of Louisville, Stacey (David) Hibbard, of Springfield; a brother, Jeffrey (Brooke) Hardin, of Louisville; a sister-in-law, Carla (Richard) Hodges, of North Carolina; and a brother-in-law, Jan (Jill) Netherland, of Florida.The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 28, at Parkway Baptist Church with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. Dr. James Carroll will officiate.Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at Parkway Baptist Church and after 8:30 a.m. Monday, April 28, at the church. Expressions of sympathy have been requested to Special Olympics of KY., KEA, and Nelson County Humane Society. Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
