Always In Our Hearts

Kathy Jo Rowe, 63, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life and entered into her eternal home Tuesday, September 20th at the Jean Waddle Care Center(Hospice).

Kathy was born on June 23, 1959, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fort Thomas Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Bill Gibbons and Judy Vanzant.

She leaves behind her husband of 31 years, James Wilbur Rowe. They were childhood friends since the age of 7 and married on February 11th, 1991.

Kathy’s greatest accomplishment was her large family of five children: Brandon & (Courtney) Trusty, Benjamin & (Shawnda) Trusty, Erica & (Dustin) Turner, Bronson & (Stephanie) Rowe and Bryan Rowe. Her grandchildren: Hailey and Madison Trusty; Tyson, Abby and Tucker Trusty; Landon, Coleson and Brielle Rowe.

Family was so near and dear to her heart. Along with her children, she leaves behind her siblings and lifelong friends: Bill Gibbons & (Janice Dane), Nancy & (Tony) Harp, Rob Gibbons, Lynda & (Jerry) Buckler, Randy Gibbons, Everett Lee & (Jessica) Vanzant and Kevin Gibbons & (Pam French). She is survived by several nieces and nephews as well: Julie & (Mike) Rutland; Erin & (Chris) Stuberg; Jason & (Tiffany) Gibbons; Jared Gibbons & (Shayla Pennick); Scott & (Lindsay) Buckler; Kristian Buckler and Sarah Gibbons.

Kathy also had great nieces and nephews: Hunter, Mason, Austin and Abby Rutland; Finley Stuberg; Britton and Aubrey Gibbons; Colton and Paityn Gibbons.

She loved the holidays, Christmas in particular. She always went above and beyond to make Christmas so special for her family. She loved reading Laura Ingalls’ Little House On the Prairie as well as watching the show. She was practically family to The Waltons and Andy Griffith as well. Her biggest hobby, while she was in good health, was traveling to the beach and she always looked forward to planning for July’s big trip. Kathy loved all things beachy, especially Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. She always called the beach her heaven and that is where she is now, gathering shells and sticking her toes in the sand with Jesus, her Daddy and Mamaw.

It was her wish to be cremated and have her ashes cast at sea so there will be no funeral service held but there will be a gathering for close friends and family at New Beginnings Worship Center on Saturday, September 24th at 2:00pm to celebrate her life.

You can to the family or in memory of Kathy Rowe.
