Kathryn F. CumerSeptember 14, 1933 -January 19, 2017Kathryn Frances Cumer, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2017 with her family by her side. Her family brought so much joy to her life and she loved being surrounded by them. She was the best mom, grandma and "Granny," and she will be missed so much. Kathryn was born on September 14, 1933 in Glassport, Pa., to David and Elva Hill Herlehy. She married Alex J. Cumer Jr. on September 11, 1954 in Glassport, Pa. She is survived by her five children: Alex J. Cumer III of Junction City, Rick Cumer (Becky Starr) of Springfield, Joyce Zentner (Duane), Maryann Kumm (Rick), and Mark Cumer of Eugene; her sisters: Rita Merlock of Lebanon, Patricia Herlehy of Glassport, Pa., Jean Noga of Elizabeth, Pa., and Carol Velincic of Mason, Ohio; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters Virginia Saley and Dorothy Douglas, brothers James Herlehy and Richard Herlehy and her grandson, A.J. Cumer IV. A recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, January 25, at 5:00 p.m. at Musgrove Family Mortuary, 225 S. Danebo Ave., Eugene. A private memorial service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Eugene. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to PeaceHealth Hospice of Sacred Heart in Eugene.
