Kathleen Ardel "Kathy" Best, 59, long time employee of Life Care Center, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Life Care Center in Sandpoint with Pastor Steve Nickodemus officiating.Kathy was born on June 10, 1954 in Ellensburg, WA to Verlin and Dorothy Cox. After graduating high school in Ellensburg she married Terry Best on September 27, 1972 in Benton City, WA. Kathy worked at the Golden Harvest Restaurant and Westwinds Gift Shop prior to moving to Sandpoint in 1997.Kathy spent the past 16 years working for Life Care Center in Sandpoint, most recently as Director of Housekeeping. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, fishing, cooking, watching baseball, and collecting dolls, clowns, cows, and angels.She is survived by her husband Terry Best of Sandpoint; one son Steve Best of Yakima; one daughter Charleen (James) Still of Sandpoint; five grandchildren Eric, Caitlin, Beth, Chloe, and Leila; two brothers Terry Cook of Yakima and Dick McCumber of Arizona; one sister Twyla Garoutte of Spokane; and mother-in-law Kate Best of Sandpoint.She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim Cook, and father-in-law John Best.The family would like to express their gratitude to Irene Michaels and the staff at Life Care Center for their love and support.
