LIGONIER — Kathaleen Lee Barhydt, age 61, of Ligonier, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016. She was born on March 31, 1955 the daughter of Frank and Lydia (Slone) Jacobs in Pippa Passes, KY. On Aug. 6, 1988, she married Dennis Lee Barhydt in Hindman, Kentucky. Kathaleen truly loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was always about town enjoying what festivals, gatherings, and activities were taking place. Many moments were spent outside in her garden baskets and fishing at any lake with her husband and family. Kathaleen worked for 20 years in production at the Acadia Factory. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she tended to go all out with decorations and things surrounding that time of year. Playing pranks are some of the favorite memories shared amongst family members and friends. A true animal lover and dear friend are qualities that those close to her will miss. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Dennis Barhydt, of Ligonier; two children, Cindy (Donald) Baker and Dennis Barhydt Jr., both of Ligonier; grandson Donald Baker Jr., Ligonier; step-sons, Shane Barhydt, Ligonier, and Shawn Barhydt, Albion; brothers, Frankie and Michael Jacobs; sisters, Jean Hall, Jackie Kipp, Ann Glaser, Shirley Brewer, Linda Arispe, Brenda Ritchie, Glenda Slone and Sonya Huff. Kathaleen is preceded in death by her parents; Frank and Lydia Jacobs; brothers Buster, Devert and Johnny Jacobs; and her sister, Helen Jacobs. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier. Pastor Jimmy Shepherd will officiate. Burial to take place on at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, IN. Family and friends will be received from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the service.
