We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Karan Thompson, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Karan was born on March 6, 1956, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, to parents Christopher and Sarah Thompson. She married her husband, Jason Shaffer, in the year 41, and together they raised two children, Blake Shaffer and Kareen Shaffer.

Karan was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School and went on to work as a Mental Health Advocate, where she had a profound impact on those around her. In her free time, she enjoyed bike riding, reading books, and taking long walks with her family.

Karan passed away on May 1, 2024, due to a sudden heart attack. While we mourn her loss, we take comfort in the memories we shared with her and the love she brought into our lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
