Kalheinz "Heinz" BartellKalheinz "Heinz" Bartell, 61, of Tallahassee, passed away on June 5, 2017 at his residence.He was born on February 4, 1956 in Muncie, Indiana to Robert Theodore and Rosa Katharina Genheimer Bartell. Heinz attended Leon High School, joined the Army and was honorably discharged in 1977. Heinz married Gretchen Sharp in 1980 and had three children. They divorced in 1992 and she passed away in 1995. He returned to Tallahassee in 1977, where he held a multitude of jobs and excelled in each of them. Heinz was currently a facility manager at the VA Clinic in Tallahassee. He traveled throughout the United States, and parts of Germany, while in the Army. Heinz was an avid lover of music, nature and art. He especially loved being a grandpa to his grandchildren. It has been said that there are some people who are a "Jack of all trades," but he truly was a "Heinz of all mastery."He is survived by his daughter, Amy K.; sons, Raymond and Nicholas; brothers, Klaus (Brenda), Tom (Victoria), Tim R. (Gail), Mark (Trang) and Terry (Nichole); sister, Rosa Linda; significant other of 7 years, Sheila Towne; nieces, Kim, Becky, Jill, Amber and Crystal; nephews, Cameron, Sawyer, Mason and Samuel and grandchildren, Ligeia, Aiden and Kambria.Private family services will be held to honor Heinz. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tallahassee Museum, as he loved going there and thought it was beautiful.
