Kai Michael Pualani , 68, of Hawaiian Beaches, Hawaii, passed peacefully after a long battle with congestive heart failure on March 17, 2023. Kai, or as many knew him, “Tsunami Mike” was born on June 09, 1954 on the very beach he lay to rest. He was preceded in death by father Kai Pualani Sr. (1932-2005) & brother Kekoa Thomas Pualani (1963-2022). He is survived by his sister, Nala Pualani Richards (Keith Richards) and their 3 children, Mike’s nephews & his pride and joys, Tyson (12), Tommy (10), and Tiger(6).

Mike was always known for his kind heart. As the owner and operator of Tsunami Mike’s Bar n Grill, he served many as though they were family. Rather than dying in a hospital bed, Mike spent his final days sailing the seven seas with life long friend Costas Aristopolous before their voyage ended on the Hawaii beaches, where Mike passed peacefully with family.

A memorial dinner will be held at Mike’s restaurant 3/25/23 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, have a shot of Tsunami Mike’s special sauce in his honor.
