Julio Martinez, born on December 11, 1980, in the Bronx to Marcos Zapata and Amelia Lambert, was the cherished firstborn of three siblings. From a young age, Julio's vibrant personality and deep love for his family stood out. As a son, brother, father, and grandfather, he was the heart of his family, always putting others before himself and sharing his love freely.
Julio was a proud father to his son, Rey Martinez, and a devoted grandfather to Sincere and Chasity, who brought him endless joy. He also cherished his role as an uncle to his niece and nephew, always ready to offer love, support, and guidance.
In March of 2018, Julio's health took a significant turn when he required a kidney transplant. Despite his struggles with dialysis and the challenges that came with his condition, he fought with immense strength and courage, never letting his circumstances define him. His determination, resilience, and positive attitude served as an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He faced each day with a fighting spirit, always surrounded by love and support from his family.
Julio's deep love for music was an integral part of who he was, and it brought him joy throughout his life. Whether listening to his favorite songs, sharing music with family, or simply enjoying the rhythm of life, music reflected his vibrant soul and passion for living.
In accordance with Julio's wishes, he chose to be cremated, as he didn't want his parents to endure the heartache of seeing him laid to rest in a cemetery. This decision was a reflection of his love and consideration for his family, ensuring that they could hold onto his memory without further pain.
Julio leaves behind his beloved son, Rey Martinez; his parents, Marcos Zapata and Amelia Lambert; his siblings, Kelvin Martinez and Amelia Martinez; his grandchildren, Sincere and Chasity; his niece and nephew; and a host of other family members and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Julio will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will always remember his strength, his loving nature, and the joy he brought to their lives. His memory will live on through his family, his music, and the lessons he taught about perseverance and love.
Rest in peace, Julio. You will forever be in our hearts, and your love and music will remain with us always.
