Nigh, Judith Rose (nee Ponder), Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, on November 8, 2016. Most beloved wife of the late James Moroney Nigh; loving mother to Jeffrey (Christie) Nigh, Mark (DeDe) Nigh, Patrick (Christine) Nigh and grandmother to Macy & Myles; Margaret, Katherine, Elise & Clark. Judith leaves behind sister Mary (John) Brutcher, sister-in-law Mary Jo Ponder (nee Roesch), brother-in-law Dr. Charles (Joan) Nigh and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by numerous friends whose love and support she valued immensely. Judith is preceded in death by her brother, Frank Skip Myles Ponder, and her parents, Frank and Rosalind Ponder. Judith was born on July 25, 1941 in St. Louis, MO. She was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School, Saint Louis University and Webster University. Judy worked for the American Red Cross for 25 years. She was an active member of Mary, Mother of the Church serving on the Parish Council. She was involved at Bernard Elementary School as a Cub Scout and Den pack leader. She was also a member of various quilting groups. Services: Visitation will be at HOFFMEISTER COLONIAL Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street, on Friday, Nov. 11, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at Mary, Mother of the Church, 5901 Kerth Rd. on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the James Moroney Nigh and Judith Ponder Nigh Endowed Opera Scholarship at Webster University, 470 E. Lockwood Ave. 63119.
