JUDITH K. HUGHES, 69 NORMAL - Judith K. Queckboerner Hughes, 69, of Normal, IL., died on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 9:57 a.m. Judi was born on August 11, 1946 in Savanna, IL., a daughter to Alvin George and Freda Louise Frank Queckboerner. She graduated from Freeport Senior High in 1964 and worked for General Casualty Insurance Company before marrying Jerry Hughes in Lena in October 1967 and divorcing in 1971. She worked for Micro Switch in Freeport, IL. for 16 years before moving to Normal in 1977 where she worked for 23 years at GTE/Verizon before retiring in 2010. Judi is survived by her brother, Everett (Doris) Queckboerner, Waupaca, WI.; nephew, Craig Lang, Lanark, IL.; and her best friend of 38 years, Sharon Bell. Sharon and her family became Judi's second family and gave her many years of love and happy memories. Cremation rites have been accorded. Her inurnment will be at a later date.
