Juanita M AlsopApril 15, 1949 - June 16, 2017SalinasJuanita Montoya Alsop, 68, native and lifelong resident of Salinas, passed away on June 16, 2017 in Salinas. She was born on April 15, 1949 to Juan and Guadalupe Florez. Jenny was a loving caring kindhearted person that worried about everyone else. Her smile was infectious and she had a big heart. Jenny had no children of her own but she has numerous nieces and nephews and many Gonzales High cafeteria students that called her "MOM". She leaves a huge hole in everyone's heart but she will never be forgotten.Juanita is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Leland "Lee" W. Alsop, sisters, Carmen (Frank) Sanchez of San Jose, Adela (Gil) Shaw of Salinas, Victoria Flores of Salinas and Lupe Alcaraz of Soledad, brother, Manuel (Erlinda) Florez of San Jose, "Like a Son", Martin Mendoza of Salinas, God children, Ruben Diaz of San Jose, Tiffany and Jonathan Rusconi and Jeremiah Ortiz along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Guadalupe Florez, sister, Maria Hernandez, nephews, Roman Pedroza and Ernest Hernandez.Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 1-6pm at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd Salinas, CA  93905.Rosary vigil will follow on Thursday, June 22, 2017 7pm-9pm at Madonna del Sasso Church 320 E. Laurel Dr. Salinas, CA  93906.Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 1pm at Madonna del Sasso Church. Burial to follow at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery 18200 Damian Way Salinas, CA  93907.
