Gilson, Joyce V.Joyce V. Gilson, 91, Green Bay, formerly of Manitowoc, died peacefully Tuesday, December 1, 2015. She was born on July 21, 1924, in Green Bay to Carl A. and Leone (Heimke) Rusch.Joyce graduated from Green Bay East High School, Class of 1942. She married Gerald "Jerry" Gilson on May 10, 1945. He preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 2005. Joyce worked with her husband, Jerry at his Manitowoc AAA Insurance Company. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, bowling, spending many happy hours at the Oneida Casino, and golfing. Joyce was an excellent golfer and was in many tournaments in Manitowoc. She received a lot of joy from her time spent with children, especially her nieces and nephews.Joyce is survived by her son, Bill Gilson, Manitowoc; two sisters and one brother, Bev Miller, Sandra (Gene) Paluch, and David (Carol) Rusch, all of Green Bay; brothers-in-law, Dick Picton and Bob (Pat) Hess; sisters-in-law, Violet Hanmann and Edith (Eddie) Selissen; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents; sisters, Marilyn Hess, Germaine (Chuck) Brasure, Bonnie Picton; brothers-in-law, Tom Miller, Dick Gilson, Howard Gilson; and sister-in-law, Ethel (Dave) Martin.Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, December 5. The Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Fewell officiating.
