Joyce Sue Carmona

Joyce Sue Carmona, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on December 26th, 2024, at the age of 76, in Toledo, Ohio. Born April 4th, 1948, in Versailles, Ohio, to the late Alfred and Dorothy Henry, Joyce was raised on her parents' dairy farm, and graduated from Versailles High School in 1966.

After graduating high school, Joyce went to cosmetology school in Lima, Ohio, where she also became a teacher, and met her loving husband, Jose. Shortly after getting married in 1971, they moved to Toledo, where they owned and operated The Willow Tree Unisex Salon for 27 years, before retiring in 2016.

Joyce loved to bake for her family and friends, and cook homemade chicken and noodles with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved to tell stories to those around her.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jose; three loving children, Maria Carmona (Fred), Jamie (Kim) Carmona, and Jeff (Amber) Carmona; five grandchildren, Jack, Travis, Brianca, Federico, and Luz; her siblings, Barbara (the late Jerry) Weaver, Cheryl (Dale) Leach, and Larry (Sylvia) Henry; and many nieces, nephews, and their children.

Friends will be received at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, Ohio 43614, on January 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m.
