JOYCE SMITH

LIMA — Joyce E. Smith, 76, of Lima passed away at 2:32 PM on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Lima Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Joyce was born on July 20, 1940 in Lima but was raised in Wapakoneta with her twin sister Janice, to Robert and Esther (Casey) Marker, Sr., who both preceded her in death. On September 27, 1958, she married R. Dean Smith, who survives in Lima.

Joyce was a homemaker who enjoyed creating crafts, Facebook, reading, word searches and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by four sons: Greg L. (Carole) Smith, Tony W. (Susan) Smith, Ron E. (Shari) Smith all of Lima; and Rick D. (Michael Rull) Smith of Los Angeles, CA; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; two sisters Suzanne (Bill) Stout and Meredith (Vernon) Luedeke; three brothers George (Bonnie) Marker, Larry Marker, Thomas (Andrea) Marker; brothers-in-law Larry Smith and Blair Kaufman; sisters-in-law Lois Marker and Patricia Marker.

She was preceded in death by five sisters: Shirley (Delmar) Hern, Mary Ellen Marker, Marjorie Marker, Joan (Robert) Gehr, Janice Roth; six brothers Robert (Elizabeth) Marker, Jr., Franklin Marker, Richard Marker, Warren Marker, Ted (Beverly) Marker and John Marker.

Memorial services will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, December 12, 2016 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL where the family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at 12:30 PM.

Officiating the service will be Val Aspinall, who is a friend of the family.
