We are saddened to announce the passing of Joyce Reed, of Mt Pleasant, North Carolina, on December 7, 2025. Joyce was born on December 22, 1934, to her parents Arthur and Eleanor Potter.

Joyce was a devoted wife to her husband Butch Reed, whom she married in 1953. Together, they raised five children: Jodi Strede, Joann Strede (spouse Raymond Gates), Dennis Reed (spouse Terri Reed), Sherry Reed, and Jeff Reed. Joyce was also a beloved grandmother to 10 grandchildren, Shawn,Shane,Pamela,Raeann,Rebecca,Lauren, Allison,Phil,Makaela and Rylea

Joyce spent her career working as a bus driver, touching the lives of many in her community with her cheerful disposition and caring nature.

In her free time, Joyce had a passion for animals and maintained a farm where she lovingly tended to her cows. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors.

Joyce will be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laugh, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
