She was born on March 21, 1948, to Freeman L. and June E. (Knisley) Box in Toledo. Joyce attended Whitmer High School. She loved classic movie knowledge, history, sewing, traveling, reading, dancing and spending time with her friends and family. Joyce's greatest accomplishment in life was being a wife and mother. She even fostered over 60 babies. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Joyce's class and beauty will live on in our hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her parents. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, John D. Husted; daughters, April Long and Brianna (Aaron) Leary; stepsons, Brian (Michelle), Jeffrey (Leigh) and Aaron (Amy) Husted; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; siblings, Norman Box Sr., Michael (Sherry) Box and Tina (John) Casto; former spouse and friend, Leroy “Buzz” Mercer; and many nieces, nephews, other family and dear friends. The family will receive guests on Friday from 4 - 9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
