KENDALLVILLE — Joyce A. Ames, 71, of Kendallville died on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville. Mrs. Ames was a former resident of Portland. She had worked for Kerr Glass in Dunkirk and at Bearcreek Farms in Bryant. She was born on Sept. 12, 1942, to Harold and Bertha (Missicano) Jellison. She married Larry Ames on March 3, 1962, and he died July 1, 2006. She then married Tony Shepard on Feb. 2, 2013. He survives in Kendallville. Also surviving are a son, Andrew and Kim Ames of Kendallville; a daughter, Shelia Ames of Indianapolis; a brother, Jerry Jellison of San Antonio, Texas; and three grandchildren. Visitation will today from 2-6 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
