Josie E. Saiz, 79, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at her home in Las Vegas.She was born on July 21, 1937, in Las Vegas to her parents Guillermo Apodaca and Regina Duran.A Catholic and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Margarito married the "love of his life" on Feb. 13, 1953. She enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling, cleaning her house, puzzle building, quilting, word search, traveling to the casino, cooking and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her famous red chili.She was preceded in death by her parents, Guillermo and Regina Apodaca; daughter, Tina Saiz and sister, Mercedes Lupe Yara.She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Margarito Saiz, of the family home; sons and daughter, Leroy Saiz, Lawrence Saiz and wife, Roseann, all of Las Vegas, Lorraine Wall and husband, Roy, Eddie Saiz and wife, Sandra, all of Albuquerque, and Larry Saiz of Las Vegas; granddaughters raised as daughters: Monica Padilla and husband, Michael, of Las Vegas, Tranette Apodaca and fiancée, Shawn, of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; brothers and sisters, Ralph Apodaca and wife, Rosalia, Abran Apodaca and wife, Connie, all of Albuquerque, Valeria Chavez of Tularosa, Margie Saiz and husband, Ray, and Tony Apodaca and wife, Virginia, all of Las Vegas; numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Thursday also at the Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at the St. Anthony's Cemetery in Las Vegas with the following serving as casket bearers: Jimmy Sisneros, Arturo Saiz, EJ Saiz, J.R. Saiz, Esequiel Mascarenas and William Saiz.
