Joseph "Butch" Scales was born on October 5, 1964 in the Bronx New York to the late Frankie Louise Hopkins. Butch was a very caring man that devoted his life to his family and friends. Butch loved spendinglden, and John R. Hopkins Jr. his time in the city where he residenced for many years until settling in West Babylon, in Long Island New York. 

Butch had a passion for fashion and enjoyed every moment of it. From running his own salon for years, to just doing inhouse appointements to family and close friends. You never left his chair unsatified; with laughter, advice and a good hair style. 

Those Left to cherish his great memories is his 6 siblings, Mary V. Wise, Rufus (Bubber) Scales, Clarance Thomas Scales, Shelia Diane Dorsey-Holden, and John R. Hopkins Jr. A Host of Nieces and Nephews. Kiana and Jason Wise whom he raised, and a wonderful Niece/Health-Care Provider Erica Willams. Many relatives and many faithful friends
