He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia; and their only son, Joseph David. Joe is survived by his wife of 27 years, Inge (Grimm) Savage; her four sons, Chuck (Audrey), Mark (Theresa), Kenny (Laura) and John; daughter-in-law Stacy Summers; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday , June 12, 2017, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
