Joseph Marshall "Joe" Hood, 88, of the Mooresville Community of Washington County, passed away at 8:47 p.m., Thursday, Nov.17, 2016, at Bardstown Health & Rehab Center.A native of Washington County, he was born on Jan. 7, 1928, to the late Hollis and Artie Mae Curtsinger Hood.He was a member of Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy.Preceding him in death was a sister, Myrna Lawson and a brother Charles Hood.Survivors include a brother, William R. "Hoppie" Hood and his wife, Essie of Mooresville, two nieces, Kay Holt and her husband, Jackie of Bloomfield and Barbara Monroe and her husband, Darrell of Chaplin and two nephews, Kenny Lawson of Louisville and Kevin Lawson of Tampa, Florida. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Keith Creech, the church pastor, officiating.Burial was in Brush Grove Cemetery.Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
