Apr 06, 1929 - Jan 02, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
Joseph Frank Caresio, 87, passed away peacefully Nov. 2, 2016 surrounded by his family. Joe was born on April 6, 1929 in Kansas City, Mo., to Joseph and Sophia Caresio. He grew up in the Columbus Park area of Kansas City. He met his sweetheart, Vivian Gulotta, as a teen at a carnival where he asked her to ride the Ferris wheel. They married at St. Aloysius Church on Nov. 10, 1951. He served proudly in the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant. Joe graduated from the University of Missouri- Kansas City School of Law in 1957 and passed the bar exam the same year. He went on to practice law in Kansas City for 57 years. Following his retirement, he served as a legal consultant to members of the entertainment business, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Joe lived his life for his family and took pride in all of his children's, grandchildren's and great grandchildren's accomplishments. He was a ferocious reader with a special knack for storytelling. His favorite pastime was sitting around the table with his grandchildren and telling stories. He was also an avid traveler and visited Italy, his favorite place, four times in his life with his wife, children and grandchildren. He often practiced his Italian and continued to stay sharp into his older age. Every morning you could find him checking the stock market and reading the news, especially politics, on his computer or smartphone. Joe was there for every moment of his grandchildren's lives, both big and small. He never missed a beat. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Isabel Arnone. He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of 65 years; his brother, John Caresio; three children, Cynthia and Eric Swanson, Denise Caresio, and Joseph and Christine Caresio; seven grandchildren, Anthony Badalucco, Joseph and Marla Badalucco, Traci Badalucco, Michelle and Elliott Homan, Joseph, John and Vivian Caresio; and three great- grandchildren, Olivia and Ella Badalucco, and Henry Homan. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 4 from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church at 6415 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the or to St. Andrew the Apostle Parish. Fond memories and condolences for the family may be left at www.dwnwhitechapel.com (Arr.
