Joseph Everetts Obituary

Mar 30, 1939 - Oct 28, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
Everetts, JosephJoseph Arthur Everetts (Joe), 77, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Manor Care West in Green Bay. He was born on March 29, 1939, to the late Joseph P. and Ora (Jones) Everetts. Joe proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1957 - 1960 during the Korean Conflict, his rank being Airman 3rd Class. Joe worked most of his life as a truck mechanic, retiring from Truck Company due to health reasons. In his younger years, he also commercial fished on Lake Michigan. He was a member of the Green Bay Moose Lodge. Joe never met a project he couldn't tackle. He could always make something out of not much. A standard joke was "if there is junk at the curb in front of Joe's house, it's junk". For his 70th birthday, he took a hot air balloon ride. He drove stock cars in the 1960s with only a couple of roll-overs. He also liked to fish, trap, and hunt, especially with his dad. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada. Joe loved camping and the outdoors his whole life. Later in life, his interests included (again) camping, attended NASCAR and local stock car races, followed the boats on the Great Lakes (loved Sturgeon Bay when boats were in for work or layup), visiting the Soo Locks, and going for rides to "nowhere" and ending up "somewhere". Rides were a huge part of Joe and Lynn's life together. Survivors include his significant other of 14 years, Lynn A. Miller, his children Tim (Nicole) Everetts, Seymour; Joseph (Wendy Powell) Everetts Jr., Green Bay; Cynthia (Steve) Doucette, Green Bay; Pam (Greg) Krumpos, Howard; Jeff (Tracy) Everetts, De Pere; Krystal (Clint) VandeHey, Green Bay; Nicole (Rob Gleffe) Everetts, Green Bay; and Kayla (Charles Maus) Everetts, Green Bay; in addition to a sister Pat (Bob) Rickaby, Algoma. He is also survived by his step-mother, Donna Everetts and step-siblings, Shelly (Rick) Buss-Conard, Sue Glaser (Rob Lord), and David (Tracy) Fruzyna, all of Green Bay. He is further survived by Lynn's family, Brother Reid Peot, Wautoma; her daughters Kerry (Mark) Hanson, Rantoul, Illinois; and Kristin (Paul Nesbitt), De Forest. Also surviving are the mothers of his children, Judie Georgeson and Trudy Way along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and Lynn's grandchildren, as well as extended family members and friends. Along with his parents Joe is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Diane "Dee Dee" Everetts. A celebration of Joe's life will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay on Monday, October 31st from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery will be private. Joe's family would like to thank his professional and compassionate caregivers at Green Bay Oncology and Radiation, as well as his caregivers from Heartland Hospice and Manorcare West, who so passionately took care of him throughout his illness. Your kindness will be forever appreciated.
