Joseph R. EmmettPOUGHKEEPSIE - Joseph R. Emmett, 81 passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY. Joseph was born on October 6, 1935 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Joseph Emmett and Lillian O'Dell. He married Barbara Watkins in Poughkeepsie in 1967 and predeceased him on March 15, 1997.A local resident all his life, Joseph attended Poughkeepsie Schools and was a laborer with Local 1000 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Joseph was a US Army veteran serving in Europe. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Joseph is survived by his son Brian Emmett ;daughters Kelly Emmett and Donna Stahli all of Poughkeepsie, NY, brothers Wayne and Peter Emmett of Poughkeepsie, NY and sisters Barbara and Linda as well as grandchildren Kara, Brandon, Nicole, Tyler and Cheyenne, 3 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his son Michael Robinson.Visitation will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Wm. G. Miller & Son FH, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A Service will follow at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 11AM.
