ROTHWELL, Joseph E. 89 of Middletown passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born on May 2, 1924 in Middletown to Shelby & Lily (Sponsel) Rothwell. Joseph served our country in the US Army during WW II in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged in 1945. He worked for the City of Middletown in the Parks & Recreation Dept. for 30 years, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a master craftsman in woodworking making many unique gifts for his extended family. He also enjoyed reading and wood whittling. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Margie and Donna. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his wife of 66 years, June L. (Tibbs) Rothwell; his children, Mike (Judy) Rothwell, Tom (Sharon) Rothwell, Jim (Shirley) Rothwell, Robyn Rammel, Dan Rothwell and Beth Rothwell; 9 Grandchildren, Jill Dennis, Joe Rothwell, Kelly Katz, Kim Kavesh, Lindsey Rammel, Jenny Rothwell, Tyler Rammel, Casey Rothwell and Jeffrey Rothwell and 6 Great-Grandchildren, Brooklyn Dennis, Mason Dennis, Gabriella Dennis, Micah Katz, Rylee Katz and Hannah Katz.
