He passed away on February 28, 2017 in Port Charlotte, Florida. He has been a resident of Cape Coral since the 70's. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nancy Lou (Banks) Bortoff; children Deborah (Kim) Van Wormer; Pamela Sue Bortoff; and Paul Joseph (Dareen) Bortoff; grandchildren Lyndsey (Dan) Schwegler, Jeffrey (Kelly) Bortoff, Kristyn (Jeff) Sweat, Julia (Steven) Flowers, and Ethan Bortoff; 9 great grandchildren; brother Alexander (Sue) Bortoff; and many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents; his grandson Joey Bortoff; and his sister Alice (Nicholas) Famo.The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 3-4 pm at Fuller Metz Funeral Home.
