Jose Saturnino "Nino" Lucero, 62, a resident of Ojitos Frios, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014 in Las Vegas.He was born on Feb. 3, 1952 in Las Vegas to the late Luis O. Lucero and Rafaelita Aragon Lucero.He was a member of the N.M. State Bilingual Association and N.E.A., a retired school teacher and rancher. He raised charolais cattle and he loved horseback riding.A lifetime Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Rafaelita Lucero; paternal grandparents, Jose Leandro and Predicanda Lucero; maternal grandparents, Severo and Dolores Aragon; brothers and sisters, Jesus Lucero, Bersabe Torres and husband, Bernabe, Dr. Alfonso Lucero and baby, Abran Lucero; nephews, Steve Lucero, Charles Torres and Avalynn Torres.He is survived by his brothers, Luis L. Lucero of Ojitos Frios, Henry Lucero of Ojitos Frios, and Jose Manuel Lucero and wife, Maira, of Las Vegas; aunts, Bennie Benavidez and husband, Luciano, of Pueblo, Colo., Esther Lucero of Ojitos Frios; sister-in-law, Cruzita Lucero of Tennessee; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Rosary services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:10 p.m. also on Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant.
