On the afternoon of Oct. 9, 2013, Jose "Eusebio" Lucero, 64, passed away at The Denver Hospice after complications with his 20-year battle with diabetes. He was born on April 26, 1949, in Las Vegas. Eusebio and Rebecca made their home in Denver, Colo. since 1972.He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecilio Lucero Sr. and Frances Lucero; sisters, Mary Lucero, Rumalda Torres, Ida Alderete; brother-in-law, John Alderete, and sister-in- law, Frances G. Lucero. Eusebio is survived by his wife, Rebecca Lucero, and his children, Rosa Lucero, Ron and Connie Lucero and Olivia Lucero, all of Denver, Colo. His is survived by six grandchildren. His surviving siblings are: Tony Lucero and wife, Della, San Pedro, Calif., Augustine Lucero and wife, Adeline, Cecilio Lucero Jr. and wife, Eloisa, of Las Vegas, Leroy Lucero of La Junta, Colo. and Lorraine Gutierrez and husband, Lloyd Trujillo, of Santa Fe.Cremation has taken place with services to be held in Denver, Colo. on Oct. 28. Burial will take place in Las Vegas to be announced at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Malesich & Shirey Funeral Home in Denver, Colo.
