Jose Ortega, 89, of Carson, California, passed on December 09, 2020. Jose was born on February 24, 1931 In Guatemala. He moved to California in 1963 and married his wife Ana Guadalupe shorltly after. He started serving Jehovah in 1958 faithfully until his passing. Jose never looked back, he spent the next 40 plus years sharing his knowledge and love for Jehovah and the Bible with everyone he came into contact with. He raised all of his eight children to come to know Jehovah and make their dedication their own. When asked if he was afraid of death, he would firmly answer No! He trusted in the promise of resurrection as found in Acts 24:15 “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and unrighteousness”.

Jose was a very hard worker and always provided for his family. He worked at TRW for over 25 years and was well respected for his ethics, friendship, and his dedication along with his hard work. He loved to be busy and to work. His second job was to help many people immigrate to the US and with their taxes. Many expressed their gratitude and gratefulness for everything he did to help better their lives and become citizens.

Jose loved to cook. He took pride in barbecuing and one of his favorite dishes to make was carne asada. He built a barbecue from bricks and enjoyed spending time with the family in the backyard. He also loved vacationing down Baja California and going to Rosarito and Ensenada beach with the family. It was a tradition every summer that he looked forward to. Jose also loved reading, taking in knowledge and sharing with others.

Jose had simple hopes and dreams for his children and grandchildren. His favorite scripture was Isaiah 41:10. Although loosing him is a great loss to many, he was faithful to Jehovah until the end and will be remembered by all.
