Jose A. Padilla, 59, a longtime resident of La Manga, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque.He was born on Feb. 24, 1953, in Pueblo, Colo. to Sotero Padilla and Perfecta Jaramillo Padilla.He enjoyed playing the guitar, going to the casino, being outdoors and fishing.A lifetime Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas.He is preceded in death by his parents, Sotero and Perfecta Padilla; sisters, Fabiola Almanzar and Isabelle Padilla; and mother of his children, Rhonda Pacheco.He is survived by his daughters and sons, Crystal Padilla, Barbara Pacheco, Jonathan Padilla and girlfriend Elizabeth all of Greeley Colo., and Rudy Padilla of Tatum, N.M.; grandchildren, Emily and Alex; brothers, Jerry Padilla and wife Mary Lou, Jose Eloy Padilla and Sam Padilla, all of La Manga; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.Rosary services were on Tuesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Funeral Services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant. Interment will follow at La Manga Cemetery in La Manga with the following serving as casket bearers: Eric Padilla, Manuel Padilla, Cisco Pino, Eddie Pino, Jerry Padilla and Jonathan Padilla. Serving as honorary bearers will be Francisco and Marcus Aleman, Fabian and Andres Pina.
