Jose "Chepe" Gamboa was born in Jalisco, Mexico on March 26, 1947, and passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on August 19, 2023. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching sports, primarily his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers and loved to dance.

Jose is survived by his wife Lola, his daughter, Elvira and her husband Roberto, daughter Perla, her husband Erick, daughter Irma and significant-other Michael. His beautiful grandchildren; Jose, Marissa, Juan, Daniel, Roberto, Isabell, Diego, Ava, Michael Jr. Great-grandchildren; Serenity, Leonardo, Jeremiah, Jasmine, and Lorenzo.

Jose was an exceptional man. A hard worker since the age of fourteen until he fully retired in December of 2010. He touched many lives and treated everyone with kindness and compassion. He will be missed for his warm welcome, smile, memorable laugh and his positive energy. His love for his family was very well known and the love received from him will be carried on as he lives forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be Monday, August 21, 2023 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78211. The Rosary (prayer) will begin promptly at 6:00pm. We are asking for everyone to please wear Jose's favorite team, Dallas Cowboys attire.

The mass will be Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 10:00 am at Devine Providence Catholic Church, 5667 Old Pearsall Rd, San Antonio, TX 78232. Immediately following the mass, the burial will conclude at First Memorial Park Cemetery, 20567 State Highway 16 South, Von Ormy, TX 78073. Attire for the funeral business casual/semi-formal.
