Johnny F. Hawkins, 82 of Darlington died on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. He was born in Rose Hill Township, NC. He was the son of the late Rufus & Eva Hawkins of Kinston, NC. He was married to the late Olivia Kelley Hawkins who preceded him in death. Johnny or “Benny” as he was called by family was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and an incredible Great Grandfather or “Papa” as he was called. He retired from GE Medical in Florence, SC and enjoyed traveling, family, friends and puzzles. Always witty with a quick comeback, he never met a stranger, always greeted you with a smile on his face. Johnny was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He leaves to cherish his memories 6 Children: Larry D Lawson, Patricia (Allen) Rouse, Carolyn F. Hawkins of the home, William (Valencia)Taylor, Pamela (Ted) Murray, Barry Taylor and an adopted son Frederick(Lenora) Davis. 19 Grands and 24 Great grands. 2 Sisters Nancy Paul and Holland Hawkins, 2 brothers Dempsey Hawkins and Gerald Hawkins. Johnny was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 5 sisters one of which was his twin. He leaves a host of nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, family and friends, along with his Spiritual Brothers and Sisters. Due to COVID 19 all services are private at this time.
