He married Barbara Berger on June 7, 1964 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mission Valley. He enjoyed fishing and was almost as good a fisherman as his two sons he lived a life filled with passion, kindness, and an unwavering love for his community. He was an accomplished athlete and graduate of Cuero High School and received a full scholarship to Texas Lutheran University.John's commitment to making a difference was felt by all who knew him. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he consistently offered his time and resources to those in need. His warm smile and gentle demeanor touched the hearts of many, making him a cherished friend and neighbor. John's legacy of selflessness and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. He will be dearly missed.
