John Jr Sharpe was born October 02, 1938 to the late Benjamin Sharpe and Queen Ester Phillips Sharpe of Edgecombe County, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life on July 30, 2019 at Vidant Edgecombe in Tarboro, NC.

John was educated in the Edgecombe County School System and graduated in 1957. He was employed by Pan Webb and Proctor Maintenance as a dedicated Welder for over 30 years. He was known as the "Handy Man" He had a talent for repairing what was broken. During his free time John Loved to travel and watch drag racing.

 Left to forever cherish his memories are his children: Kayonda Sharpe of the home,Nicole Sharpe of Richmond VA, Lisa Butler, Jeremey Sharpe and Carolyn Sharpe all of RockMount NC; two sister's Florine Jones (Robert),  and Margaret Sharpe all of RockyMount; three brother's; Rev. Dennis Sharpe (Deloris), Cleveland Sharpe (Tina) and George Bryant all of Rocky Mount NC; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces nephews and other relatives and special friends including Steve Proctor.
