John R. PunkoAGE: 75 • HazletJohn R. Punko, 75, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. John was born on September 13, 1941 in Bronx, NY, and was raised in Jersey City. On May 28, 1971, John and his wife, Monica, were married and began their life together in Hazlet. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Helen (Szabo) Punko, and his granddaughter, Christie Shimak. John is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 45 years, Monica R. (Kruk) Punko, his loving children, Pamela Mizak and her husband, James, of FL, Thomas Connors and his wife, Laura, of Hazlet, Melanie Shimak and her husband, Joseph, of Toms River, and Cindee Punko of Hazlet, along with his cherished grandchildren, Patricia Mizak, Daniel Mizak, Joseph Shimak, Anna Connors, Michael Shimak, Andrea Connors, Alexandrea Punko, and Daniella Punko, and his special niece, Michelina Kruk. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Hwy/Rt. 35 N, Hazlet.
