Brigham City – Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, John Richardson "Papa John" Braegger, 91, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008. He was born on April 19, 1916, in Malad City, Idaho, a son of Oliver Stauffer and Ruth Angelina Richardson Braegger. He married Nona Dineen on Nov. 19, 1938, in Rigby, Idaho. She preceded him in death. John started Brigham Sewing Center in 1968. He continued this business until his death. John met and married Joyce Amrine Wear on Jan. 4, 1992, in the Ogden LDS Temple. He was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. Surviving are his wife, Joyce; three children, Terry (Shirley) Braegger, Georg Ann Simkins Macdonald, and Judy Dee Larsen; six step children, Glenl (Merrilee) Wear, Jr., Virgil (Carin) Wear, Darryl (Stephanie) Wear, Glenda (Brent) Sanders, Leora (Mike) Zamora, and Fawn (Don) Bradshaw; 35 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Jensen. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to your favorite charity. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at the Brigham City 3rd Ward Chapel, 205 W. 200 North. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, at the Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E. 200 South, Brigham City, and from 11:30 a.m. to p.m on Tuesday at the church.
