John P. Mobbs, 72, passed away on January 4th, 2017 in Las Cruces, NM. He was born on June 25, 1944 in Fallon, Nevada to Wilburn and Eva Louise (Matthews) Mobbs. He was a CPA in Alamogordo for many years and an avid fisherman. He is remembered for his warmth and quiet generosity. He loved his family and his community as well as his second home at Lake Novillo, Mexico. Survivors include his wife Mary Jo Mobbs, his three sons, John (Bita), Kevin (Claudia), and Brian, and his grandsons, Ian, Brent, and Arturo. He is also survived by sisters Mary and Georgia, brothers Bob and Steve, his uncle J. O. Matthews, brother-in-law Jose Gutierrez, sister-in-law Betsy Howell, nieces and nephews whom he loved, and many who looked to him as a father figure. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Allen, sister Margaret, and nephew Jonathan. The memorial service for John Mobbs will be held at 10:00 am Monday, January 9, 2017 at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dustin Wilhite officiating.Should friends desire, contributions may be made to Cowboys for Cancer Research, P.O.
