John C. McClain Shreveport, LA- John C. McClain passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Live Oak. He was born on December 5, 1934 in Greenville, MS to John Homer and Betty Mallett McClain. John was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Mr. McClain worked for General Electric for 30 years until his retirement. John served his country proudly in the U.S. Army for 9 years and then in the Army Reserves for another 3 years. Mr. McClain donated his body to the LSU School of Medicine.Mr. McClain was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Pauline Irene McClain.Left to cherish beautiful memories of John are his three sisters, Mildred Little of Shreveport, Jamie Ross of Utica, MS and Margaret Odom of Brandon, MS. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Live Oak and Amedisys Hospice Care for the care shown to Mr. McClain. The family would also especially like to thank Dr. James Jackson and his nursing staff as well as Dr. Basel Kasabali for their many years of care.
