John Maxwell was born on January 4, 1948 in Estill South Carolina to the late Ruth and Warren Maxwell.

John suddenly passed from this earthly life on May 23, 2023. 

John loved spending time with his grand kids, going to the flea markets with his Uncle Eddie, playing his poker games and watching sports. He was a devoted family man and always willing to help others in their time of need.

John leaves to cherish loving memories his longtime partner Denise Green; three sons, John Maxwell, Ernie Maxwell and Mike McNeil; one daughter, Tenika Hardy; one son in law, Brian Hardy; one special son Melvin Hugo; 5 grandchildren, Maya Maxwell, Jordan Jones, Anthony Jones who he called “Lumpy”, Damari Carter and Sa’kiyah Beason; one great granddaughter Zori; one brother Walter Maxwell; one sister in law Evelyn Maxwell; three nieces, Gequetta Maxwell, Sherry Maxwell and Denise Maxwell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
