John "Jack" J. McGuireAGE: 86 • LakewoodJohn J. "Jack" McGuire, Lakewood, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2017 at Harrogate Health Center surrounded by his children. Jack was born on May 26, 1931 in Jersey City, NJ. Following his service in the US Army in the Korean War, he graduated from St. Peters College in 1959. Jack had a successful career in the shipping industry and retired as a tanker broker from McQuilling Brokerage in 1995.Jack was devoted to the care of his family. He enjoyed many close friendships throughout his life and was an avid golfer, especially in his retirement years.Jack was the beloved husband of Lorraine McGuire (deceased in 2011) and his family takes great comfort in knowing they are reunited. He was the devoted father of Lynn Carroll and her husband Christopher of Hingham, Massachusetts and John McGuire, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Singapore. He was a loving grandfather to Brendan Carroll and Annie and Catherine McGuire.He is survived by his brother James McGuire and his spouse, Evelyn; nieces, Sister Maureen McGuire, Maria Titus, Cathy Andrews, Patty Brown and their families; nephews, Mark Kitrick, Thomas Kitrick, Jr, James McGuire, Jr and their families.Jack was also predeceased by his parents Sarah and George McGuire, his brother, George and his wife, Helen; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Kitrick and her husband Tom.Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 2-6 pm at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated as St. Luke Roman Catholic Church, Toms River at 10:30 on Monday, November 13, 2017, please arrive at Silverton Memorial at 9:30 am. Interment will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted in his memory to Include NYC (previously known as John J.
