Rushing, John Jr. 3/1/1932 - 10/4/2016 Brighton, Michigan His Legacy... John Holden Rushing, Jr., 84, passed away October 4, 2016. He was born on March 1, 1932, in Hughes, Arkansas to John Holden and Gertrude (Clayton) Rushing. John married the love of his life, Sandra Lynn Wigal on December 8, 1962, in Las Vegas, Nevada. A former Marine and career educator, John had a magnetic personality and strong leadership qualities; he was active in numerous community service, youth sports and educational service organizations. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his sons, and later in life, golf. He was a talented athlete at his beloved University of Redland Bulldogs. His Family... John will be missed by his children, John H. "Trey" (Kelly) Rushing III, Jeffrey Hall (Shannon) Rushing, Joel Christopher (Courtney) Rushing, Jerald Matthew (Kristine) Rushing; 18 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandi; sisters, Edna and Donnie; parents, John and Gertrude.
